Social Images

The social networks may store an old version of the image for your event. You can tell the social networks to use your new image.

Luma makes sure that your events and home page look great on social media. We generate a beautiful preview image or use your custom image.

I’m seeing an old image when I share my link

The Open Graph image is what people see when they share your event on social media or other websites. When creating a Luma event, you can choose a custom image, or Luma will generate one for you with the details of your event.

When your Open Graph image changes, social platforms can take a while to update it on their side, so you may see an outdated image.

On some platforms, you can speed up the process by telling the platform to refresh their cache and grab the new image.

Here’s how to refresh the Open Graph image for your event:

Facebook

  1. Go to https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug.

  2. Paste your event URL into the "Sharing Debugger" field and click "Debug”.

Telegram

  1. Add the official Telegram bot @Webpagebot

  2. Send an /updatepreview command to the bot with your event URL.

LinkedIn

  1. Go to https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/.

  2. Paste your event URL into the URL field and click “Inspect”.

Twitter, Slack, iMessage, WhatsApp, or any other social platform

Add ?v=1 to the end of your event URL, so lu.ma/mycoolevent will become lu.ma/mycoolevent?v=1. Alternatively, wait 5-10 minutes and check the image again.
