Printing Event Badges
While Luma doesn't currently have a built-in badge printing feature, you can create and print badges for your event using your guest list CSV export and a badge template.
Creating Badges
Step 1: Export Your Guest List
- Go to your event's Manage page
- Navigate to the Guests tab
- Click "Export CSV" to download your guest list
- The CSV will include guest names, emails, QR code URLs (for check-in), and other registration information
Step 2: Generate QR Codes
For events with check-in enabled, the CSV export includes a "qr_code_url" column with unique URLs for each guest. You can create QR codes using any online QR code generator:
- Copy the QR code URL from the CSV for each guest
- Paste it into any online QR code generator (just search "QR code generator" online)
- Download the generated QR code image
- These QR codes can be scanned at your event for quick check-in
Step 3: Design Your Badge Template
Use any design software (like Canva, Adobe, or Microsoft Word) to create a badge template that includes:
- Guest name
- Event name
- QR code (if using check-in)
- Any other relevant information
Step 4: Print Your Badges
Many event organizers have had success using label printers like the Brother QL printer series (such as the Brother QL-820NWB) for efficient badge printing. However, we don't have official printer recommendations at this time.
You can also:
- Print on standard paper and use badge holders
- Use pre-perforated badge sheets
- Work with a local print shop for professional results
Tips for Badge Printing
- Test print a few badges before printing the entire batch
- Consider including only essential information to keep badges clean and readable
- If using QR codes, ensure they're large enough to scan easily (at least 1 inch square)
- Leave space for lanyards or clips if using badge holders
This manual process gives you full control over your badge design and printing options.
