Event Cover Images
Your event cover image is the first thing people see when they discover your event. A great cover image can significantly increase registrations and make your event stand out.
Image Requirements
Aspect Ratio Event cover images should be square (1:1 ratio) for optimal display across all platforms. This ensures your image looks great everywhere it appears - on event pages, explore feeds, and social media shares.
Size Recommendations We recommend uploading images that are at least 800px by 800px. There is no maximum or minimum size requirement, but larger images will provide better quality across different display sizes.
Template Gallery
If you don't want to create your own image, we have a template gallery with hundreds of great images you can choose from. These templates are professionally designed and work well for many different types of events.
GIF Support
While some GIFs are supported, we don't guarantee that all GIFs will work properly. Our official recommendation is to use static images instead of GIFs, as we're not able to help troubleshoot GIF-specific issues.
Design Tips
Keep Text Minimal Avoid adding too much text to your cover image. Text can become hard to read when the image is displayed at smaller sizes, especially on mobile devices or in preview cards.
Leave Breathing Room Make sure to leave some space around the edges of your image without important content. This prevents your image from feeling too busy and ensures it looks clean when displayed.
Avoid Corner Elements Don't place important elements like logos, text, or decorative frames in the far corners of your image. Luma rounds the corners of images when displaying them, which can cause content in the corners to be cut off.
Consider Multiple Contexts Remember that your cover image will be displayed in various sizes and contexts - from large event pages to small preview cards. Choose an image that works well at both large and small sizes.
Getting Featured
Having a high-quality, square cover image is one of the requirements for getting your event featured on Luma. Events with poor or incorrectly sized cover images are less likely to be selected for featuring.
