Email Consent and Cold Emailing

We do not allow emailing people without their consent.

We have built Luma to be a tool that is both delightful for both hosts and guests.

As part of that mission, we do not support sending cold emails or any emails to someone who has not given you their consent to receive emails.

If you are buying emails or using a sourcing tool, please do not enter these emails into Luma.

Important Note About Regarding Luma's Terms of Service

When you send emails on Luma, you must first go through our verification process, where you confirm that you agree to these policies. Sending emails without consent is considered a violation of our Terms of Service.

We understand that mistakes can happen, but if your account is suspended for sending unsolicited emails, Luma Plus subscriptions will not be refunded. This policy helps us maintain a positive experience for all users and protects the deliverability of emails for everyone on the platform.

Spam / Bounce Rates

As part of this policy, we expect that you will be importing valid emails into Luma.

We monitor your email performance and enforce the following thresholds:

Warning Level (Soft Limits)

  • Spam rate: 0.025% or higher
  • Bounce rate: 2% or higher

When you exceed these warning levels, you'll receive an email notification about your deliverability metrics and recommendations to improve them.

Suspension Level (Hard Limits)

  • Spam rate: 0.05% or higher
  • Bounce rate: 5% or higher

If you exceed these suspension thresholds, your email sending will be automatically suspended to protect deliverability for all Luma users. You can appeal the suspension through your calendar settings.

Important Notes:

  • These metrics are calculated based on emails sent in the last 5 days
  • The spam calculation includes people marking your emails as spam, malicious, or unsolicited
